The fundraiser/fun run for Erik was a huge success. Despite a slew of races taking place between now the marathon in December, and a ton of rain over the last week, a sizable crowd showed up to help out a fellow runner.
All said and done, Memphis will be sending (at least) $1,020 to Erik to help with his medical bills. Thank you to everyone who came out and congrats to those who won a pair of shoes from New Balance. If you were unable to make the run and would still like to donate, please stop by either Breakaway or Fleet Feet and leave the funds in care of either Feb (at Fleet Feet) or myself (at Breakaway). It was a true community effort and I cannot say enough about how much it speaks for the tight knit running community that is developing.
